There is an even more convenient way to add the kilometres for a team or municipality than via the online cycling calendar: the CITY CYCLING app (available in German only, called STADTRADELN app for Android and iOS systems)! Either enter the kilometres manually – without needing to log into the internet – or use the GPS function: the exact route will then be tracked and the kilometres covered calculated immediately.
There are a variety of results views to choose from, and communication within the team is facilitated by a comment function that allows team members to organise tours together or to cheer one another on, for example.
Two versions of the CITY CYCLING app are available in the app stores:
Paying version (without any advertising):
A one-off fee is payable for this version.
With countless useful additional features, such as a speedometer, altitude meter and route export function (GPX file).
An additional function allows the app to be used for the RADar! reporting platform. If a municipality offers RADar! to its cyclists (as indicated by the RADar! symbol in the list of participating municipalities), cyclists are able to pinpoint locations directly on a street map via the CITY CYCLING app to suggest improvements to the cycling infrastructure to their local authorities. The location needing attention is either determined by the nearest postal address or – even more easily – by GPS localisation by clicking directly on the map!
NEW in 2016: because the RADar! reporting platform is now being offered to cyclists entirely independently of the CITY CYCLING campaign (during the summer, for example, or even all year round), a standalone, free RADar! app has been made available for:
The RADar! function also remains integrated into the CITY CYCLING app.
