With its Change the Future tool, Climate Alliance provides incentives to contribute to big transformations through little activities. The tool doesn’t stop at individual commitment, though. Rather it also shows opportunities to get involved and work together to achieve a good life for all.

Climate Alliance invites the children of Europe to participate in its green miles campaign with their municipality. Daily journeys are made in a fun, active way and green footprints collected for a Climate Voyage around the One World. At the end of the year, the green footprints collected are presented to participants in the annual UN Climate Conference to show the “big ones” how the “little ones” are already being proactive rather than simply discussing: they are implementing practical climate protection measures in their lives!
The campaign is the ideal complement to municipalities’ CITY CYCLING activities.
EUROPEAN MOBILITY WEEK (EMW) is a campaign by the European Commission offering municipalities from all across Europe the opportunity to familiarise their citizens with the full range of sustainable urban mobility options. Every year from 16 to 22 September, municipalities try out innovative transport solutions or promote sustainable mobility through creative ideas. CITY CYCLING is an ideal activity for EMW: cycle during the week or hold a local final event – the possibilities are endless!
The VCD campaign FahrRad! Fürs Klima auf Tour is specifically geared towards young people. It aims to encourage 12 to 18-year-olds to cycle as often as possible between 1 March and 31 August instead of being driven around by their parents. There are some great cycling prizes to be won, along with a top prize of €500. So young people simply need to register twice, then cycle once to double their chances of winning!
The Mit dem Rad zur Arbeit campaign has been running in Germany for over 16 years now. This joint campaign by AOK health insurance company and the German National Cyclists’ Association (ADFC) has already motivated more than 1.9 million people to get more exercise during their daily lives. The aim is to cycle on a total of 20 days during the campaign period from 1 May to 31 August. Participants make their daily commute part of their fitness regime to help boost their health and protect the environment – and be in with a chance of winning prizes worth more than €200,000.
Why not participate in CITY CYCLING in parallel – to increase your chances of a win?!
