The RADar! reporting platform is a web-based planning and citizen participation tool offering the municipalities and their inhabitants optimal opportunities to further promote cycling in the municipality together – and it is even available for free as part of the CITY CYCLING campaign!
Cyclists draw municipal authorities’ attention to problematic and/or dangerous places along cycle routes via the CITY CYCLING app (available in German only, called STADTRADELN app) or online cycle log: they simply position pins on a street map and provide a brief explanation of the reason for their report. This is then automatically forwarded to the responsible municipality, which can take the appropriate action.
The following report categories are available, whereby the most appropriate can be selected quickly and easily:
- road signage/markings/lighting
- cycle route signposting
- traffic routing
- road works
- traffic lights
Colour coding the pins directly on the street map allows cyclists as well as those responsible at the municipality to gain – and retain – an overview.
